Chapter 2 材料寄出后的咨询
　　申请材料的寄出意味着漫长、难熬的等待开始。学校收到申请材料了吗？材料全不全？是否已经开始审理？结果是否已经出来？也许你会被一长串的问题折磨得寝食难安。其实，大可不必。你完全可以给学校写封Email，询问具体情况。只要能够回答，学习一般都会及时给以回复的。
　　本章将以时间顺序，提供一系列可能需要的Email。与其自己瞎想，不如动手写Email，相信你一定会愁眉舒展，豁然开朗。

Dear Professor Beard,

I have submitted to your department a full application package, all completed as required, for your consideration. It is my strong hope to start my PH.D training from the fall semester of 2002.

By reading your critical work Digital and Humanistic Issues in Communication, I know that your area of expertise coincides with my area of interest, namely, human in new media age. A major in Mass Communication, I shall feel greatly privileged if I get to study under your seasoned guidance.

I have strong interests in Films and Television Studies, Multimedia, Media Language, and I have strong enough experience to do a good job in my graduate study. These include: one year’s internship in CCTV, two years’ director at Campus TV Station, and experiment on film direction.

As I do not have any savings or other funds to finance my graduate education, my enrollment will ultimately depend on whether I can obtain adequate financial assistance in the form of an assistantship, a scholarship or both. Given this, whatever advice of suggestions you may have regarding my application will be greatly appreciated.
