Answer ur question about SAT I
hi Nice to meet you here About SAT I, memorizing vocabularies are the foundations for you to boost your score on the test. You have to be very familiar to the hot-vacabulary of SAT I. Other than that, you need to practice lots of full-length papers under simulated test conditions to do well.
About read comprehension, I usually spend 1-2 minutes to read the whole passage first. Then I start to look at the questions. You can easily answert the vocabulary-oriented questions at this time and some general qestions like the tone or attitude of the author. You need to have good SENSE of the passage at this time so you can answer correctly about the tones/attitude of the author made.
For me, the trick that I can do well on SAT I is not much about practising. It is about the knowledge I've already known about the relative area/field of the passage. For example, I encountered 2 psychology passages, 1 astronomy passage and 1 literature of travel adventures in the SAT I actual test. I did very well for the first 3 passages as I have already known quite a lot of INFORMATION about psychology and astronomy. This greatly facilitate my answering to the questions without having to depend too much on the tests. Moreover, this greatly help me to have a very good sense of the passage so I can do them quiet fast. Timing and pacing yourself is very important on the tests.
For analogy and sentence completion, I usually spend 10 minutes on them and the rest of the 20 minutes on reading comprehension which constitutes a great percentage on the overall score of SAT I. I did all of the questions in a sequential manner to help me pace myself and not to omit any questions in the test. This also helps me to build confidence on the test that i have the capabilities to answer all the questions. Remember to put a mark on the question that you are not very sure of so you can always go back on the paper-based test of SAT I
Good luck to test and remember to read newspapers and good scientific books other than memorizing vacabularies coz a strong knowledge base is what get you above 2200 on the SAT I. Many of my close friends are getting full perfect score on SAT I and so can you.
